No. of Positions: 14
Position: Saab-340 Sim Instructor
Closing Date: Continuous
Type of Operations: Part 142
Qualifications: US ATPL with SF-340 type rating. Time as PIC in the Saab-340 aircraft. Past simulator instructor experience.
Company: CrewSource, formerly AML, Inc., has been a provider of ground school instructors, simulator instructors and flightcrews to the airline and aviation industry for the past 10 years. CrewSource's primary custormer has been Northwest Aerospace Training Corporation (NATCO) in Eagan, MN. We provide ground school and simulator instructors for seven types of aircraft for contract training customers. In 1999, CrewSource added the PanAm International Flight Academy (PAIFA) as a customer for ground and simulator instructors at several of their facilities. Instructors for these two accounts have come from a pool of over 200 instructors based primarily is the United States. CrewSource's year 2000-business plan calls for expansion into the regional airline marketplace by providing simulator instructors for contract training. Our objective is to have a pool of instructors typed and qualified on the Saab-340 and other turbo prop and regional jet aircraft, to meet the growing demand for contract training in this marketplace.
Misc: All CrewSource instructors are part-time, independent contractors. Therefore, there is no requirement for any instructor to commit to any number of days of work per month. On the other hand, if the workload is slow you may not get called to work. On the average, if your availibility allows, you could expect to work 7 to 10 days per month, or do the sim periods for 1 crew per month. It all depends on how much of your time-off you want to spend working for CrewSource, part-time. Every individuals schedules vary and CrewSource is willing to work with almost anyone's availability. The best way to do this is to provide your availibity to the CrewSource Instructor Scheduler so that the Scheduler will know in advance when you are most likely to work. The scheduler will call the instructor when a training requirement needs to be filled and ask if the instructor is available to take a particular amount of work. If the instructor accepts the assignment, it is at that point! that the instructor in considered commited to taking that amount of work. As an independent contractor, CrewSource will not pay any benefits or take out any taxes. The work would be in Indianapolis and/or Memphis. Travel and hotel is provided by CrewSource. Simulator Instructors earn $55/hour (or $220 per day) plus $25 per diem.
