Qualifications: The City of Wichita, Kansas (population 310,000+) is recruiting this highly skilled position in the Wichita Police Department (650 commissioned officers). The Air Section reports to the Commander of the Special Operations Bureau within the Support Services Division. The posiiton is responsible for maintaining and repairing the Department's helicopters. It requires graduation from an FAA-approved school, and at least four (4) years of experience in general aviaiton maintenance and repair, including at least two (2) years of experience in maintaining, inspecting, and overhauling the Hughes/Schweizer 300C airframe and powerplant. The individual hired must be a certfied Aircraft Mechanic with an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) rating and an Inspection Authorization (IA). Equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. Pay range information available upon request. Starting pay depends upon qualifications. Position may close to applications!
